I picked this up for 99c because I'm a completionist, but the negative reviews of this pack are totally on the money. You might like this if you didn't think the mines were annoying enough in the original game, or thought that the graphics were too good.Nearly all the puzzles are early versions of levels that showed up in the original game, so there's not a lot new here.. I can't say that the description is inaccurate - you get a prototype version of the Talos Principle, with unprocessed Elohim voices if you want them, and early versions of what became the puzzles. It's just that after finishing the fully-fleshed out game, I don't really want to see the pre-alpha version. This isn't a 'making of' behind-the-scenes set up, this is a "why are you showing me the unpolished unfinished version?" setup. People say that there are a few puzzles that didn't make the final game, but I'm not *that* interested in prototype content.. Lots of extra puzzles minus all the nice scenery and texture. I'd say most of the puzzles made it into the final game in one form or another, but there are a couple that seemed like a new challenge.. this is not a director's cut. this is a making-of. if you are interested in the process of making a puzzle game, you buy this. if you are not, skip.. Although it mainly contains the puzzles in the game (and simplified versions of it) there are some new ones that are really fun to complete. I'd recommend this to those who are absolute fans of the original game and want to get that tiny last bit out of it before you go back and play it with the serious sam voice over ;P. One of the best games I have played in recent years, if not ever. Puzzles aren't too difficult, though some can be a bit challenging the first time through. The Talos Principle touches on some very deep, dark philosophical ideas throughout, but leaves it to you to decide what to believe (despite certain influences).VERY highly recommended!. If you highly enjoyed the base game and wanted more out of it \/ was curious about their design process, then you'll enjoy this. It being labelled as DLC is a bit of a misnomer since it doesn't add any extra plot or anything, but it expands on their design process and is pretty fascinating.. Opens you the great gates of the community made content both as player and editor. Some members have really produced impressive work. When i see all that became possible around portal 2 I really hope the Talos community lives and grows !. What you're really getting here is the alpha \/ early beta version of the puzzles in the base game. Of course they're going to look worse, and of course they're going to play worse. They were changed in the final version for a reason. I believe that the puzzles in The Talos Principle get better and better the further you get, with Road To Gehenna being some of the best. The stuff in this Prototype DLC is, unsurprisingly, a step in the opposite direction.I'm not upset about buying this; every dollar I give Croteam helps them continue their magnificent work. But unless you have a serious antropological bent I wouldn't recommend spending the time to actually play any of this content.
